Roundabout House
Current Work
A building first intended and used as a Victorian school house. In recent decades it has been used as a public sector administration department, though it closed last year and awaits new permanent residents. In the meantime, the building is occupied by 'Guardians' - temporary residents on a short term let - who gave it its name. Some of the Guardians create music in this space, an evolving act of creativity sandwiched between the past, the future and a gyratory system of busy roads.
A study of transience, nostalgia, creativity and the power of the moment, using digital & analogue stills, moving imagery and sound. There is always sound, not least the constant roar of the traffic.
"Just when I thought I was getting somewhere. I forgot."
